These advanced capabilities are valuable and maintain support for both existing production and new development programs. They pave the way for sophisticated new cutting-edge technologies for future material and process developments.
Texstars maintains ongoing development of specialized coatings for our transparencies and has yielded some of the most advanced coatings in aerospace. Our R & D team has perfected many processes, including our proprietary closed-mold version of VARTM, for decorative film lamination to composite substrates used as interior liners for passenger railcar applications.
Texstars also continuously pursues the development of lighter-weight armoring cross-sections for composite armor, body armor and transparent armor constructions that defeat armor-piercing (AP) rounds and fragmentation from exposure to improvised explosive devices (IED's) in live combat scenarios.
